Who we are

John Stevens Ltd is an electrical company covering a very diverse field of services. Our company history dates back to 1969 with John Stevens taking over the company in 1985. John's son Daniel Stevens became the new owner of the company in April 2021. Our premises have expanded over the years to include a large workshop, offices, stores, and internal parking for our modern fleet of service vehicles.

We have a staff of seven, comprising 5 Electricians, 3 Apprentices and an Office Administrator.

Our range of work covers electrical maintenance and new installation work, refrigeration, air conditioning, pools & filtration and security systems.

We currently service over 220 farms in the greater Tokoroa area as far north as Tirau, east to Atiamuri, south to Taupo and west to the TeHoi area. Our farm work includes general electrical, rotary platform service, water pump and effluent electrics and recently we have become agents for HALO Farm Monitoring Systems.

With modern data logging technology we can assess a farms milk cooling requirements and offer the most cost effective solution to meet MPI Standards.

Meet the Team

DANIEL STEVENS

Daniel Stevens has taken over the company from father John Stevens in April 2021.He is very honoured to be able to carry on this family business into the future delivering the very high standard of work and expertise the company is renown for.

Daniel Stevens is the third generation electrician in the Stevens family. He attended Tokoroa High School, then a year at Hamilton Boys High and from there he completed a Pre Trade Electrical Training at Waikato Polytechnic. He then started his Electrical apprenticeship in 2007.

His skills are an asset to his company with respect to on job organisation and getting the big jobs completed to a very high standard and meeting the varying customer requirements. Along with other members of our staff, jobs are completed quickly and efficiently.

Customers can be assured of sound advise on their water and effluent systems due to Daniel's knowledge and understanding of water and effluent systems when installing or upgrading their systems. He also has gained experience in writing and diagnosing PLC systems.

JOHN STEVENS

John started doing electrical work back in 1969 working for his father Gerry Stevens, and having taken over the business in 1985 , has continued to manage this very successful company. John now works ito support Daniel in maintaining our very high standards of service delivery.

Although he may think he is retired , he is at work most days either helping in the office, orgainising work, and still filling in on tools when required.

History

Gerry Stevens Ltd was started in Tokoroa by John’s dad, the late Gerry Stevens back in 1969. Gerry emigrated from Holland with his wife Dorrie and three boys back in 1963. John started his apprenticeship under his father in 1976 and took over the company in 1985, moving to new premises and changing the name to John Stevens Ltd.

Since 1985 the company has grown to employ nine staff, servicing the greater Tokoroa area in a very wide field of electrical services. John’s experience dates back to his school days working for his father and he now has over 40 years of experience in the trade.

John Stevens Ltd has trained over twenty electrical apprentices to a very high standard of workmanship. We currently have three apprentices training to become Registered Electricians.

In April 2021 the company was taken over by Daniel Stevens.
